The Pak-Türk conference series is a technical event which focuses on the advances in new technologies in engineering sciences, nuclear astrophysics, renewable energy resources, optical engineering, computer science and electrical engineering. The purpose of this conference series is to provide a platform for researchers, academicians and practitioners to make them familiar with recent advancements in the various fields of engineering and sciences. The conference accepts a wide range of papers to encourage young and experienced researchers to present their work and the possibility of initiating mutual collaboration with international repute researchers and industry personnel. The conference format comprises of multiple sessions and the selected research articles are presented based on substantial and novel research.
The series of events was initiated in 2018, by organizing the “First International Pak-Türk workshop on Emerging Technologies in the Field of Sciences and Engineering” held on 9th May 2018 at Barber’s Building on campus. Keeping in view the success of the 1st and 2nd Pak-Türk international conferences, this time, the GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology organized the 3rd Pak-Türk Conference on Emerging Technologies in the Field of Sciences and Engineering on 9-10th June 2020, at GIK Institute. In view of the prevailing situation worldwide regarding Covid-19 and to comply with the instructions from the Government of Pakistan and to ensure the safety of participants, the conference was conducted in a virtual online mode of presentation. The 4th Pak-Türk International Conference on Emerging Technologies in the field of Sciences and Engineering (3-4th Nov 2021) also organized as an online event, because COVID-19 restrictions were still in play. The 5th Pak-Türk conference series were at play on 1st-2nd December 2022 at University of Wah, Quaid Avenue, Wah Cantt. With some loosening of COVID-19 restrictions, this time it could be organized as allowing speakers to attend online or directly presenting themselves in the room as they wish. It was a fully synchronous online experience due to the COVID-19 outbreak; that had live Q&A, participants jointly listened to presentations, and attended other live events associated with the conference. The conference accepted only 15% of the submitted articles for publishing in the IOP proceedings. The online conference was attended by almost 200 plus individuals through the online video conference software.
We were wishing that 6th PAK-TÜRK conference would be a face-to-face event in which we could enjoy international collaborations between our Pakistani and Turkish researchers in a direct and more accessible way. And for the first time, it would be organized in our home, Türkiye. However, on February 6 - 2023, Türkiye hit and affected by a massive earthquake. As shattered by the devastating images of the quake and trying to manage the aftermath, it is now impossible to organize this event in a way that we can manage accommodations, travel problems, and other issues related to having some or all participants required to be in the same physical location. Therefore, 6th of the series will be conducted as an online event starting on May 4, 2023. The conference will be comprised of a series of online presentations by Pakistani and Turkish researchers. Collected fees will be used as aid for the survivals of the earthquake.
